What To Expect

Marrakech-Safi
Casablanca is the largest city in the Maghreb region and the eighth-largest in the Arab world. Casablanca has Morocco's chief port and one of the largest financial centres in Africa.

Located on Morocco's Atlantic coast, Casablanca came to prominence as one of the most important cities of the Berber Barghawata kingdom in the mid-8th century. In the 14th century, it was used as a key port by the Merinids; and in the 15th century, it became known as a safe harbour pirate. Casablanca came under Portuguese control shortly afterwards in 1755, the town was largely destroyed by an earthquake. It was rebuilt by Sultan Mohammed ben Abdallah and was colonized in the 20th century by the French.

Casablanca, Dar El Baïda in Arabic, owes its name, "white city", to a group of Spanish and Portuguese navigators seduced by the white facades, facing the sea, of the houses of the Anfa district. Explore this dynamic city and admire its boulevards and modern infrastructure.
Stroll through the Harbours district, renowned for its small squares and arcaded alleys: the marriage between a modern urban setting and the labyrinthine passages of the traditional medina. Continue the visit to the United Nations Square and the superb Mohammed V Square. Then join the central market to admire the royal palace of the city.
Visit the colourful Harbours district and discover the Mahkama, the city's court. Visit the city's two religious’ epicentres Notre-Dame Cathedral in Lourdes and the famous Hassan II Mosque. End the ride in the residential area of Anfa and shop for souvenirs in the brand-new shopping centre that faces the sea.
